Hommus


Ingredients


Basic Hommus:

  • 1 can chick peas, drained
  • 1/4c tahini (toasted sesame butter)
  • (at least) 2T lemon juice (to taste)
  • (at least) 2 cloves garlic
  • 2T olive oil, or to desired consistency



Caitlin's Hommus:

  • all above ingredients
  • 1 large yellow onion, sauteed
  • 1 bulb garlic, roasted 1 hour
  • half of 1 red pepper, coursely chopped
  • 1/2c fresh basil
  • 3T soy sauce, or to taste
  • dash toasted sesame oil

Directions


  1. Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until desired consistency.
  2. Note: If mixture is too thick, add water 1T at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
